Our mission is to create a world in which a sign-language-native person can find the same level of access to society that a spoken-language person enjoys.

The services we take for granted in a hearing world — like a preschool daycare program — are frequently non-existent in sign language. Our mission is to close this gap.

How it works

We write strategic grants and provide operational support to serve the needs of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) children who use American Sign Language (ASL) as their first language.

Rise and Sign enables special ASL-native programs to be created through private efforts. An instance of an active program is an ASL-native preschool program for toddlers and pre-school aged D/HH kids.
