ASL Daycare, June 2023 – Present
Rise and Sign’s foundational initiative is one of a kind ASL Daycare Program for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) kids in the Silicon Valley. This program is one of very few ASL-first daycare programs for D/HH preschoolers in the San Francisco Bay Area. And it is the only one of its kind in Fremont, CA, the city that is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Deaf communities in the United States anchored at the California School for the Deaf (CSD) in Fremont, CA and supported by neighboring Deaf-friendly colleges and universities.
The host location for this ASL daycare program is the The Learning Tree Preschool (TLT) in Fremont, CA — a preschool that has served the Fremont community for more than four decades — that is operating the program in collaboration with Deaf education experts at CSD Fremont.
