Rise and Sign

We are a team of parents, teachers, and educators that are part of the Deaf community of the San Francisco Bay Area in California.

The core of the team are parents with Deaf kids, referred to as Parents of Deaf Angelfaces (PODAs) in the rest of this writeup, who have a strong need for ASL-first programs for their kids outside of school. Our group includes hearing and Deaf parents that have Deaf kids. And we also have Deaf parents with hearing kids (i.e., parents of KODAs) who want to give their KODAs access to ASL-first programs.

The group of PODAs and parents of KODAs is advised and assisted by experts in ASL-first education that include teachers and staff from the California School for the Deaf (CSD) in Fremont, CA and staff from The Learning Tree Preschool in Fremont, CA.
